Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Correct Spelling ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Cspelling app and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect only what the Service needs to work:
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address to authenticate you and save your progress. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication (a Google service).
- Learning progress. Your completed levels, session results, and saved or missed words are stored so your progress syncs across sessions and devices. This is kept in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your account.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe, our payment provider records that a subscription is active. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Guest use. If you use the Service as a guest without an account, we do not create a profile for you or store your progress on our servers.
What we do not collect
We do not sell your personal information. We do not collect your contacts, precise location, photos, or other data unrelated to learning English vocabulary. We do not store your payment card numbers.
How we use your information
- To provide and maintain the Service, including saving and syncing your progress.
- To authenticate you and secure your account.
- To manage subscriptions and access to paid features.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or misuse.
Service providers
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service. These may process limited data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and hosting.
- Our subscription provider — to process and validate purchases.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — where you download the app and, on mobile, where purchases are processed.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.
Data retention
We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your associated personal data from our systems, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@cspelling.com. You can also delete your account from within the app, which removes your stored progress.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for general audiences learning English. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from children than is needed to use the Service. If you believe a child has provided us information you'd like removed, contact us and we will address it promptly.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including the security infrastructure of Google Firebase, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated within the app.
